NoveList

Novelist ,
That's all I am going to say. Check it out.

O.K., maybe a bit more, if you have questions, call us! 781-2351. This is a great tool for searching out books you'd like to read and didn't even know about.

You may search by author, title, series; even by describing a plot. This is a great tool if you can't remember a title or an author, but you remember the general plot of a book.

Maybe you have a favorite author, say, Robert Parker. You've read everything in the Jesse Stone series. If only there were more.... How about looking for a "read a like"? Another author who writes like Parker in this series; fast-paced, suspenseful with a tough guy main character? If you like the darker side of mystery and suspense, check out Lawrence Block, Raymond Chandler or Harlan Coben.

Novelist is just one of many databases available through Maine libraries. And just one of a few tools to help you find that next great read. Keep reading here as we add more resources.

We're Switching Over!

What better time than the fall season to do a little cleaning and sprucing up? Effective today, the Falmouth Memorial Library blog is switching over to become a RA blog. RA? RA? What's RA you say? Readers Advisory in "librarianese" or it's all about reading!

Check here for read a like lists....you like John Grisham but have read everything he's written? Try David Baldacci or Lisa Scottoline. We'll be highlighting staff picks, what's hot and why.

Also, keep checking back as we explore the world of e-books. Is a story a story regardless of the medium? Why do some readers like to listen to audiobooks too?

We're hoping you all will join in the conversation here.

Adult Summer Reading Program--Year Two

"Make a Splash, Make a Difference" is this year's Adult Summer Reading Program theme. Don't leave the kids to have all the fun, join in with your library's Adult Summer Reading program. We have a fun mascot this summer, Splash the goldfish!

The program itself is easy. Read or listen to three books, fill out a entry form, drop it off at the library in the goldfish bowl. Once a week we will be drawing a name from the bowl for a great reading prize.

Check it out!
