Falmouth Memorial Library in the Memorial Day Parade

Staff members of the Falmouth Memorial Library participated in the Falmouth Memorial Day Parade on May 26, and well they should! The Library is a memorial to all veterans and had its origins in the Falmouth Salvage Committee of World War II. Community members collected metal, rubber, rope, etc. to be recycled for war time use. Just as the Friends of the Library now raise money from sorting bottles, the Salvage Committee received money for what they collected, too. That money went to create the Falmouth Memorial Library. We spotlighted recycling then and now in the parade. Rosie the Riveter (Matilda) joined us with our recycling carts.
